I'm a Law Freak

Yesterday I tortured some of the people closest to me. First I talked to Janel about everything I learned at school yesterday. Then I called Carrie and Dad and did the same thing to them. All of them were kind, but I think that I know why no one called me on my birthday this year. . .

So has anyone seen Polar Express? We're going to go tonight. It looks boring to me. I want to see National Treasure.

I saw that Dale said on the Yahoo groups page that he was going to COS for Christmas this year. Julia wrote me an email that said "COS or BUST" on the subject line. So we'll have the whole gang together except for Eldie. That makes it more sad that Elden won't be there. We're going to miss him so much.

I wrote a poem about missing Elden. It's called Te Extrano.

TE EXTRANO
I'm sitting on this here pizza.
I am the juicy pineapple bits but there is no ham.
I'm laying between two crispy graham crackers.
I am the toasty marshmallow and I don't see any chocolate.
I'm in a dark cardboard box.
I am the pink packing peanuts but I don't feel a gift.
I'm hanging on the green Christmas tree.
I am the sparkly ornament but I don't see any lights.
I'm in a slender pod.
I am a lone pea.

Beautiful poem. I love it.

Here is another poem about our missing brother:
I call it #3

#3
You raced away with our hearts
Just like we did at the store
We'd run and run with our carts
Until we would fall to the floor
Laughing and laughing alright
We wore our pajamas that night
The video store was alight
Until you walked right out the door.

-Dedicated to the hairiest monkey in the bunch.

Wow! Those are some very nice poems. I'm thoroughly impressed, and I particularly enjoyed TE EXTRANO. Yes, we shall miss our Eldie dear this Christmas, but the bright side is that we'll all be in one place, so when he calls he can talk to all of us! Yippee!

Trust me, your ramblings about law are actually very interesting to me, so don't feel too bad about summarizing the day's lesson when you call. I mean, come on! I can always just allow my eyes to glaze over and my mind to wander while maintaining a steady flow of "uh-huhs" and "yeahs", and you'll be happy! No, just kidding! I actually do listen to and enjoy hearing about your new hard-earned knowledge.
