The Utah fight song is Utah man? Although the origins of Utah Man? are unclear, the general consensus is that the lyrics were written in 1904 by the football team and its coach, Harvey Holmes. While their words were original, the music was not. The tune is Solomon Levi, an old burlesque song. The lyrics are as follows:
- 1. I am a Utah Man?, sir, and I live across the green,
- Our gang it is the jolliest that you have ever seen.
- Our coeds? are the fairest and each one's a shining star,
- Our yell, you'll hear it ringing through the mountains near and far! (Chorus)
- 2. And when we prom the avenue, all lined up in a row,

- No matter if a freshman green, or in a senior's gown,

Dang Utes!! My wife's grandfather was a WWII hero and attended Utah (BA and JD). The name of his plane was Utah Man. He said that he would attend the games against BYU and would be secretly pulling for BYU. He bleeds blue.
Is this because BYU can't beat them on the field any more? "Whine and pout, the Cougars are out (of the closet)!"
