I was just working on my schedule and registering for some classes when I remembered an experience from my first year of law school. I have always tried to be sincere and honest with my professors. Today a friend of mine jokingly suggested that we sit together in a class and take a class from a certain faculty member with whom I actually had this conversation:
Professor:
David, why isn't the Rule of Perpetuities applicable in this situation?
David:
Excuse me? I was yawning and I didn't hear the end of the question.
Class:
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
David:
Um, I mean, I didn't hear the question.
I can't believe that I said that.

That is so funny! Did the professor seem affronted?
I think she was secretly pleased that she was sufficiently intimidating to make me lose my common sense. It was like my mouth was hemorrhaging. I couldn't stop it.
